Oppsy busy

I was supposed to update about Hong Kong but I barely have time to catch my breadth and a week has passed, just like that!

Work has been crazy. My calendar is filled with back-to-back meetings day after day (will do a screen shot if I can remember). On good days, I have an hour or so in-between meetings to clear my e-mails, but on bad days, I can only start doing proper work at about the time some people get off work. Bad bad bad. It really helps that I have mobile access to my mailbox so I know what’s going on. With that, I was able to reply to e-mails on the go and sneak out of the meeting room to make urgent phone calls whenever something comes up.

Couldn’t really stand the idea of parking myself at the laptop (again) after work, hence the lack of updates.

On a similar note, I’ll be heading to Taipei from 24 to 27 February and Hong Kong from 28 February to 1 March for a conference – let me know if there’s anything you need!

Next week promises to be a bit better so I should have time to write and tick off other items on my to-do list :)

P.S. I got my iPhone and just purchased Whatsapp today!

Hong Kong 2010

Hong Kong 2010
26 to 30 December 2010

There really isn’t much to say about Hong Kong. It is what it is. Modern, densely populated, polluted, a food and shopping haven.

L does not think much of Hong Kong and I have never been there prior to this trip so I did not have much expectations except knowing we’ll be doing a lot of walking and eating. We made this trip mainly to visit Kevin and Jenn (who just welcomed their new arrival), check out the Prada outlet, spend a day at Disneyland and, you know, because it’ll be fun to travel with Adrian and Mad again.

So this time, instead of a day-by-day travelogue, I’ll write about the highlights of the trip:

♥  Visiting Kevin, Jenn and Baby Marissa

    ♥  Visiting Disneyland

♥  Private dining and yum cha sessions

    ♥  Outlet shopping

Will do so over the next few days!

Favourite song of the moment

Robbie Williams and Jane Horrocks – Things

Ev’ry night I sit here by my window (window)
Starin’ at the lonely avenue (avenue)
Watching lovers holdin’ hands and laughin’ (ha ha ha)
Thinkin’ about the things we used to do

(Thinkin’ about things) Like a walk in the park
(Things) Like a kiss in the dark
(Things) Like a sailboat ride
(Yeah yeah) What about the night we cried?
Things like a lover’s vow
Things that we don’t do now
Thinkin’ about the things we used to do

Memories are all I have to cling to (cling to)
And heartaches are the friends I’m talkin’ to (but you got me now)
I’m not thinkin’ of just how much I love you (I love you too)
Well, I’m thinkin’ ’bout the things we used to do (we used to do)

Still can hear the jukebox softly playin’ (playin’)
And the face each day I see belongs to you (belongs to you)
Though there’s not a single sound and there’s nobody else around
Well, it’s just me thinkin’ of the things we used to do

And the heartaches are the friends I’m talkin’ to
You got me thinkin’ about the things we used to do
(I hope so)

Starin’ at the lonely avenue

You know you need to join Shopaholics Anonymous when

… you buy an iPhone 4 cover from Kate Spade…

… when you’re using a Blackberry…

… just because there was a spree…

… and you like pink.

And maybe you’ll get an iPhone sometime soon.

Brunch with Little Miss K

(Thought I’d better update before another weekend rolls around. Yikes! Slow down, old friend Time!)

So Kelly is finally back for good after being away for a year and a half. Because of our schedules and the slight time difference, it was difficult to catch each other online so I’m glad we were both kept updated on the happenings in one another’s lives via our blogs.

Last Saturday, we caught up over a hearty brunch at Wild Honey and had the best time chatting about everything, from school to work, from boys to fashion :)

It’s good to have you back, babe!

Ushering the new year

The new year arrived while we were in the middle of our Monopoly game, hands greasy from nachos and dips. If it means that’s what my year’s going to be about – junk food and fun – I’m not complaining ;)

New Year’s Eve entertainment

New Year’s morning feast

P.S. If you’re wondering why there were two hotels built (without any houses), it was because we were playing by the wrong rules and only realised the next day. We now know you have to own four houses before building a hotel. LOL.

Sundays like these

What a lazy Sunday.

Had breakfast at Thomson Plaza after mass. Took a nap. Had lunch at a coffee shop near L’s place. Lazed around. Made myself a cup of coffee. L is gaming as I’m typing.

And we just made a booking to catch Love and Other Drugs at AMK Hub later.

I like Sundays like these :)

To a great year ahead

Happy New Year to you
May every great new day
Bring you sweet surprises
A happiness buffet

Happy New Year to you
And when the new year’s done
May the next year be even better
Full of pleasure, joy and fun
