We signed up for a bridal package today :)
We met up with a consultant about two weeks ago to discuss their packages. He asked about my preferences on styles and shared quite a bit of information on the other aspects of a wedding that would influence the types of gowns we pick, etc. It was the only bridal boutique we’ve been to which bothered to find out what I had in mind to see if they could deliver, instead of merely selling their packages and gown collection. I was pretty much sold then but we decided we would need some time to consider so our consultant invited us to their bridal show (which took place earlier this afternoon).
It was a live showcase of their latest gown collection, a mini fashion show of sorts. There were wedding and evening gowns of numerous styles and even a segment featuring real brides. For a while I felt like Miranda Priestly as I watched the models parade the gowns, scrutinized every detail of the fabric and gave knowing comments. Heh.
We liked what we saw so after the show, we paid the deposit and adjourned for a quick snack before heading home.
This is one of my favourite parts of the wedding – looking forward to our first appointment!

Hi mag,
do you care to share which package did you sign up with BV? Did you top-up for the gown in the end? I’m considering to sign up with BV but am afraid of possible hidden cost.
Hi Fiona, I signed up for the Simplicity Package which was $3,980, then I topped-up $1,000 for the wedding gown because I wanted a tulle ball gown which looks fuller and requires more fabric and workmanship. I also topped-up $280 for my evening gown because I wanted a shawl which used more material. My fiancé topped up $700 for a better material for the suit so in total we paid $5,960 for the outfits (excluding flowers and photography). It may be a little on the high side but the service and workmanship is excellent. Hope this helps – feel free to let me know if you have any more questions!
