Hello, my name is Magdalyn and I live in sunny Singapore.

I stumbled into the world of blogging in 2003 and have been keeping up this writing hobby since. I like that blogging helps keep a record of the happenings in my life; it ‘remembers’ the little details that I might have forgotten over time. I used to blog on LiveJournal and started writing here in 2011 when my lovely friend, Evonne, offered to host. So chuffed to finally have a virtual home of my own.

I love shopping, fashion, beauty, flowers, manicures, musicals, picnics and snuggling under the duvet on rainy days. Not necessarily in that order.

I love reading and am constantly amazed by how ingenious authors can transport each reader to a world of imagination and possibilities with the simple pages of a book. I wish to be able to do that someday. (Check out what I’m reading, or have read, on my virtual bookshelf here.)

I have a serious weak spot for beautiful stationery and wood and paper goods.

I’m a sentimental ol’ sod. My penchant for hoarding and fondness for preserving memories has turned into a creative hobby – scrapbooking. In my free time, I gather knick-knacks and photos and piece them together. Sometimes, I make scrap pages as gifts for close friends and family.

I love travelling; learning about a new culture, observing people going about in their daily humdrum and taking in the details that help me form an impression of my foreign surroundings. Paris is my favourite city in the world.

I enjoy good food and light, fruity wines. I’m usually a savoury kinda person but if I have one sweet love, it’s macarons. I would do almost anything to sink my teeth into those light, soft shells. If you must know, it was Luxemburgerli (mini macarons from Switzerland) that got me started on my love affair with macarons.

I adore Audrey Hepburn, her elegance and her sense of style (if you couldn’t already tell).

I love surprises and randomness. A sweet note tucked between my organiser can make my week, maybe even month.

These things I like will be the things I write about. Frequently featured will be my family, my husband (better known as ‘L’ on this blog), and a bunch of close friends ranging from those whom I grew up with to precious gems I met along the way.
